10:54 pm

One week to the O-levels. I shouldn't be here.

Today I went to see the doctor, cuz I've been having like horrible headaches and a cold, on and off for the last three weeks or so. The doctor looked at me, and showed me the list of times I had visited her. Believe it or not, I've fallen sick a week before every major exam for the last two years.
I was lectured on 'stressing myself out too much' and all that. Apaarently my headaches are due to my muscles tensing up due to stress. My doctor told me that I had been clenching my jaw the whole time I was in the room. AAAAARRGGHHH.

Doctor: And, you must realise, that the most important thing right now is your....?

And I said 'O-levels' at the same time she said 'health'. My mum thought I was trying to be funny, and glared at me.
Anyway, whatever, I'm supposed to sleep 8 hours a day to prevent tension. So, if I wake up at 5:30, I have to sleep at... 9:30. Yeah. Right. I heard Ms. Lau sleeps at 9? Ah well, I certainly am not going to do that.

Funny thing is, I don't feel stressed. Like I don't feel like I'm going to die or anything, even though the O's are six days away. My sister said that its because I have already accepted that I'm going to die, so it doesn't matter to me anymore.

I kicked her out of my room.

Anyway, I was on the BBC news website (yes, I'm a nerd, but I've given up relying on The Straits Times for news) and I came across this article dated 12th July, 2003....

Singapore tries to loosen up

Singapore has decided it's time to make life a little more exciting.

In an attempt to throw off its staid image, the government has announced a ban on bungee jumping is to be lifted.
"If we want our people to make more decisions for themselves, and if we are to encourage a derring-do society, we must allow some-risk taking and a little excitement," said Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong.
And the official move to make traditionally straight-laced Singaporeans a little more wild and crazy does not stop there.
Bars are to be allowed to stay open longer and dancing on bars - once a legal offence - will also be permitted.
An "Audience Development Fund" has been established to educate public taste in art.
And the government says it will start employing openly gay people - once taboo.
Singapore is renowned for its high standard of living but strict regulations.
Jaywalking, spitting and even failing to flush the toilet correctly can lead to fines.

HAHAHAHA. Did you start crying at the end of this? I did. Even better, go to the country profiles, click Singapore, HERE, then look under 'Leaders' and 'Media.' The media part will sound pretty familiar to those of you who have studied Fahrenheit 451.

Goosfraba.
